Witches: Healers, Walkers, and Weavers

Previous posts of mine talked about Witches, what my view of a Witch is, and so on. But this post is going to bring about 3 new sides to Witches and Witchcraft. Well, kind of.

In Christopher Penczak’s book, The Inner Temple of Witchcraft (check the bottom of the post for more information about this amazing book), he mentions 3 different ways to see Witches:

  1. The Healer
  2. The Walker
  3. The Weaver

I found this very interesting and it is something that should be presented to those wanting to know more about Witches. If you’re saying “Witches scare me,” “Witches are evil,” or asking “What else is a Witch?” then this will help give you more information!

A Witch is a Healer. Long ago, Witches (namely Priests and Priestesses) would heal others and it was an Energetic process; it was far better than the medicine of the time. Lately, you may have heard of “Holistic Medicine” or “Alternative Medicine” popping up as we are heading once again in this healing direction. Most Witches are very interested in healing and may, themselves, be a Healer.

A Witch is a Walker. From Christopher’s book, he defines this as “a walker between the worlds.” Basically, a Shaman. This means a Witch can communicate with Spirits and receive infromation and healing Energy. In another “world” (non-physical) Witches can communicate not only with Spirits but Gods and Goddesses. Witches can help others become more Spiritual, if they are open to it!

A Witch is a Weaver. They manage to weave together the Spiritual World with the physical one. They blend elements of both together to live life how they please. Witches work everyday Magick due to this; no Spells necessary!

What else do you think Witches can be called?

I highly recommend the following book to anyone interested in Witchcraft, Meditation, or Psychic Abilities. It is the best book I have ever read when it comes down to teaching the Craft from the beginning. It doesn’t talk about Spells but rather how to make them work, why they work, how to develop Psychic Abilities, how to Meditate, etc. This is all the foundation for Witchcraft! I remember feeling lost because I felt like all the other books just jumped into Spells but I didn’t even know how to do the Spells! This takes all the guess work out. His following books in the series go more in-depth.

“Witch” & “Witchcraft”

Here is an exercise. Write a letter (could be on a piece of paper, document on your computer, blog post, etc.) to someone that is looking for more information on Witches and Witchcraft. You can only write 4 paragraph in the following order:
  1. Your definition of “Witch.”
  2. Your definition of “Witchcraft.”
  3. Your general knowledge on how you feel society in general accepts the practice of Witchcraft and why.
  4. One major goal you want to complete in your study of Witchcraft.
Be sure to date your letter if you aren’t posting it to a blog or aren’t saving it on a computer. Your goal can be anything; spiritual, mental, or physical. Ready? Good! Write away!
Merry Meet Sir/Madam,
A Witch is someone that is Spiritually connected to the Universe. He or she uses the Universal Energy along with their Energy to do various things such as Cast Spells, heal, contact the deceased, and more. A Witch is very knowledgeable and is always on a Spiritual Journey to learn more and become more and closer to the Universe.
Witchcraft is what the Witch practices, whether as a Religion or way of life. Witchcraft is using the Energy that the Universe provides to make Magick happen. Witchcraft is about putting the desire and intention out into the Universe and then letting the Universe take control of the wish.
I believe society, for the most part, is still against Witchcraft and Witches because it against many people’s Religious beliefs. It is seen as evil although it is not; for ages society has taught us to see Witches and Witchcraft in this way that it is hard to shake this view off.
My goal is to become more Spiritually-aware, to help others, and to free myself from feeling restricted in what I can do. I would eventually—years from now—like to start my own shop where I can sell items that would interest Witches and I would love to teach classes on Witchcraft and other similar topics.
Merry Part & Blessed Be,
Lady Cerridwen Brighid Morrigan
Now you try! Post a link if you have it on your own blog! I would love to see!

Silver RavenWolf gets mixed reviews but you can check out her book to see for yourself. Although you may not like everything about the bok nor agree with it, there are some gems within these pages! I wouldn’t recommend this to a total beginner, but someone with some knowledge of the Craft and/or their Path can find this useful as they can pick what information they want to keep and what to throw away. I recommend reading it at some point just to see what you can get from it for yourself! Buy it used for less than a dollar on Amazon (click below); it’s well-worth the money.

Talking to a Few Guys But Want a Boyfriend?

Do you have men around you but want a full-time relationship?

Several weeks ago I met with a new client. She had contacted me saying how everyone she went to couldn’t help her with her guy issues. Everything she tried seemed to fail. This young lady was out of college for a few years and has been single just as long.

I asked her about her situation to get an understanding of what went wrong in the past and to see what could be going wrong now. It’s possible it’s the same exact problem! Now, I’m the type of Reader that doesn’t guess things. I do ask questions to make sure I know the truth. I’m never setting out to “wow” someone; that’s a sideshow. I help people from an Intuitive as well as Psychological perspective. The facts are a must!

You may think she had a hard time getting guys to like her. However, the exact opposite was true! She was gorgeous, intelligent, and had a wonderful personality. She was already planning to purchase a home (with money saved up) and she had a wonderful job as a District Manager for a company.

The thing I noticed is that her problems began after a relationship ended. She began talking to a few guys and eventually they would leave the picture but she would always have more guys to take their spot. She just never knew why things never developed into a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with any of the guys.

As I sat down across the able from her, I asked to confirm what she wanted: “So you’re talking to a few guys right now but you want a boyfriend. Is that correct?” She nodded as she watched me shuffle a deck of Tarot Cards.

The Cards and my Intuition showed me something that can apply to anyone. If you are talking to a few guys that interest you but you want thinking to go further and make one of them your boyfriend then you need to do the following:

Connect with one guy.

I told her the same thing I’m going to tell you. It’s great that you’ve been talking to a few people that interest you. It gives you lots of options! However, it can make it harder for you to focus on just one guy. You may not be able to build a strong relationship with one guy when you’re thinking about the other handful. You may also find yourself comparing guys. Remember that if you’re searching for one guy that you will eventually have to trade quantity for quality.

How do you choose the one out of the bunch?

  1. Which guys haven’t you talked to in a while? Make those the first to go.
  2. Do they act like jerks or have a personality you don’t approve of? Bye bye!
  3. You know that one little thing they do that annoys the hell out of you? Yeah, well, it will never grow on you no matter what the movies tell you! Adios!
  4. Say adieu to the guys that make you feel uncomfortable. No, it is not butterflies, nerves, or you being picky. Sometimes we wish we could like someone; this is the result when we don’t like them afterall.
  5. Find that one person you like like and put the initiative forward to get to know him better. Ask him to hang out, go bowling on a group date, or eat at the new restaurant in town. He will notice your approach and it will get things off to boyfriend-girlfriend territory!

At first my client was apprehensive. We then found out that she had a deeply-rooted fear. Not a fear of commitment but a fear of being alone. She was afraid to focus on just one man out of the pack because:

“What if the relationship doesn’t last long? I’ll have to start over again because I can’t go back to the guys I pushed aside!”

These are some of the tips I gave her:

  • You picked the best of the pack anyway. Why go for one of the “rejects” that you let go of? I’m sure you don’t want to put up with the guy that hums the most annoying showtunes, belches every five minutes, or smells like cat pee. If you do, then scurry on back.
  • There are always more guys. You know how guys come and go over time? Well some more are just around the corner so hurry up and go find them!
  • Cross that bridge when you get to it. Don’t worry about “what if” scenarios. If you like them so much then what if he’s the one you’re meant to spend your life with? Don’t throw away the opportunity because you’re afraid to be alone. Go for it. Doing nothing won’t get you anywhere. Maybe it won’t work out. But don’t back away from a potential relationship because of your fear. If you break up it’s time to start from scratch and do this over again. Next contestant, please!

So how does this story end? Well it hasn’t been too long but my client chose a guy and they’re a very happy couple! She told me she picked a winner and she feels like he might be in it for the long haul. Remember you’ll never know unless you try.

If you aren’t ready for a monotonous relationship or just want to flirt around, you don’t have to pick just one guy. Sometimes it’s great to have some cuties to flirt with or some gentlemen to take you out for some fun without commitment being there. But if you’re like my client that wanted a relationship but couldn’t get out of boy-town, then it’s time to pick one.

If you need some help with relationships or with choosing a single man from your own pack of men, let me know and I will be honored to give you a Reading for a low rate either through e-mail or an IM session. There is much fulfillment to gain from relationships so don’t be afraid to get involved.

Who I Am

A Celtic Cross with a Pentagram

You may call me Lady Cerridwen Brighid Morrigan or simply Lady C.B.M. if you wish. All three of these names belong to Celtic Goddesses. I have chosen these names because each of these Goddess has some quality that I see in myself. Do I believe these Goddesses existed? Perhaps they did, perhaps they didn’t. This is Celtic mythology at its best! There are various spellings to each of their names, but these are the ones that I have found most common and they are the ones that feel the most “right” to me.

I have found a website that describes these Goddesses in a way that really just sums it up! The following is copied from the website http://www.joellessacredgrove.com where you can find this information and more. =]

CERRIDWEN (Scottish, Welsh) [KARE-id-ooín or KARE-id-win] Moon Goddess; Great Mother; Grain Goddess; Goddess of Nature. The white-corpse eating sow representing the Moon. Wife of the giant Tegid and mother of a beautiful girl Creirwy and two ugly boys Avagdu and Movran. Welsh Bards called themselves Cerddorion (sons of Cerridwen). The Bard Taliesin, founder of their craft was said to be born of Cerridwen and to have tasted a potent brew from her magic cauldron of inspiration. This potion known as ‘greal’ (from which to word Grail probably came), was made from six plants for inspiration and knowledge. Gwion Bach (later called Taliesin) accidentally drank the remaining three drops of the liquid. Her symbol was a white sow. Death, fertility, regeneration, inspiration, magic, astrology, herbs, science, poetry, spells, knowledge.Cerridwen is the goddess of dark prophetic powers. She is the keeper of the cauldron of the underworld, in which inspiration and divine knowledge are brewed. She is often equated with the famous Greek crone, Hecate, and to the Irish Badb. She is also sometimes related to the Greek Muses, only in a more violent and dark form.

Also: Caridwen; Ceridwen; Cereduin

GoddessBRID (Pan-Celtic) [breet or breed] Also Brigit, Brigid, Bride, Brighid, Bridget, Brigindo, and Banfile. Her name comes from the old Irish word brigh, meaning “Power”; “Renown”; “Fiery Arrow or Power” (Breo-saighead). Daughter of The Dagda and one of the Great mother Goddess of Ireland. At one time in History most of Ireland was united in praise and worship of her. She probably was one and the same with Dana, the first great mother Goddess of the Irish. Called the poetess, often called the Triple Brigids, Three Blessed Ladies of Britain, The Three Mothers. Another aspect of Danu; associated with Imbolc. She had an exclusive female priesthood at Kildare and an ever-burning sacred fire. The number of her priestesses was nineteen, representing the nineteen-year cycle of the “Celtic Great Year”. Her kelles were sacred prostitutes and her soldiers brigands. Goddess of fire, fertility, the hearth, all feminine arts and crafts, and martial arts. Healing, physicians, agriculture, inspiration, learning, poetry, divination, prophecy, smithcraft, animal husbandry, love, witchcraft, occult knowledge.A major Celtic pastoral deity, described as a “wise woman. Brid became “Christianized” as St. Brigit of Kildare, who is said to have lived from 450-523 AD and founded the first female Christian monastery community in Ireland. In reality her shrine at Kildare was desecrated and adopted as a holy site by Christian missionaries who turned her into their Saint Brigit in an attempt to Christianize her pagan followers. She was originally celebrated on February 1 in the festival of Imbolc, which coincided with the beginning of lactation in ewes and was regarded in Scotland as the date on which Brigit deposed the blue-faced hag of winter (see Cailleach Bheur). The Christian calendar adopted the same date for the Feast of St. Brigit. There is no record that a Christian saint ever actually existed, but in Irish mythology she became the midwife to the Virgin Mary. The name can be traced into many Irish and European place names. It is also akin to Brahati which means “exalted one” in Sanskrit.

In pre-Roman Britain, she was the tutelary Goddess of the Brigantes tribe, and like so many Celtic Goddesses, she has some riverine associations.

Brid represents the supernal mother, fertility, and creative inspiration. She has also been worshipped as a warrioress and protectress, a healer, a guardian of children, a slayer of serpents, a sovereign, and a Goddess of fire and the sun. Still other sources say she was the Goddess of agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, crafting and music.

GoddessMORRIGAN, THE (Pan-Celtic) Also the Morrigu; “Great Queen”; “Supreme War Goddess”; “Queen of Phantoms or Demons”; “Specter Queen”; shape-shifter. Reigned over the battlefield, helping with her magic, but did not join the battles. Associated with crows and ravens. The Crone aspect of the Goddess; Great Mother; Moon Goddess; Great White Goddess; Queen of the Fairies. In her Dark Aspect (the symbol is then the raven or crow) she is the goddess of war, fate and death; she went fully armed and carried two spears. The carrion crow is her favorite disguise. With her, Nemain (Venomous), Badb (Fury), and Macha (Battle) encouraged fighters to battle madness. Goddess of rivers, lakes, and fresh water. Patroness of priestesses and witches. Revenge, night, magic, prophecy.Morrigan is also closely associated with horse symbolism, befitting a horse-orientated culture with strong links east toward Asia. She may also at times have been syncretized with the horse goddess Epona. As with other Celtic goddesses Morrigan is an intrinsic part of the land rather than a tribal deity, the “Sovereignty of Ireland.”

The Celts believed as they engaged in battle, the Morrigan flew shrieking overhead often in the form of a raven or carrion crow, calling up a host of slain soldiers to a macabre spectral bane. When the battle ended, the soldiers would leave the field until dawn so that the Morrigan could claim their trophies of heads, euphemistically known as “the Morrigan’s acorn crop”.”
