A Christo-Pagan Prayer: The Lord’s Prayer

The following is a Christo-Pagan (Christian-Pagan) prayer; it is called “The Lord’s Prayer” similar to the “Our Father” that most people are aware of. I found this poem on the site http://www.northernway.org/cpprayers.html. Eternal Spirit, Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of us all,
Loving God, in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!
The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and for ever. Amen

Below you will find one of the more modern Christian versions. =]

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
Forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.

Amen.

I found it to be a wonderful Prayer so I wanted to share it with others that may appreciate it! =] It’s great to compare the two!

Blessings to all!
